Mainly used as bittering hop, Brewer’s Gold imparts fruity, spicy blackcurrant aromas. It’s used in ales, pilsners, Lamic and Saisons. Grown on limited acreage in the US and developed in 1934. Possible substitutions include Chinook, Galena, and Nugget. Alpha: 8.0-10.0%; Beta: 3.5-4.5%
